Artificial turf fields were proven safe to play on by a multi-agency research study coordinated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The study found no significant difference in the exposure from certain chemicals found between players who played on synthetic turf fields that use crumb rubber infill and those who played on grass fields. The EPA recently release the full Characterization Report detailing their findings.
